International legal advice for religious congregations

The collaboration for several decades, both Italian and foreign, has resulted in the acquisition of extensive experience in the field of consultancy for ecclesiastical corporations, bishopric – diocese and religious congregations, by virtue of multiple competences which range from civil law to canon law, from theology to historical and cultural knowledge.

Competence and specific cultural and professional background, acquired over the years, make it possible to provide the necessary international advice and assistance for the drafting of the main “rules of life” included in the so called “ Diritto Proprio” of the so called ISTITUTI DI VITA CONSACRATA (INSTITUTES OF CONSECRATED LIFE) including:

1° – the fundamental code or Constitutions;

2° – other complementary codes (DIRETTORIO, regulations, statutes) of general nature (valid for the entire Institute) or particular (valid for a part of the Institute, such as a province, or for a specific sector of the life of the Institute, such as the government, training, administration, etc.);

3° – regulations issued by CAPITOLO GENERALE or by the Superiors with their councils (general, provincial and local);

4° – other scriptura and books of the juridical tradition, even if not written (customs, habits, traditions).

Subjects covered:

• Constitutions of Religious Institutes (The word “Constitution” means the consolidated text which governs the life of a Religious Congregation – fundamental code) mainly from a legal point of view;
• Direttorio – Regulations – Statutes (Own internal law – which regulates the life of the Institute) from an economic point of view: acquisition and sale of real estate – legal and fiscal aspects – review of administrative management and accounting audits (General Treasurer) – drafting of contracts for the regulation of relationships between third parties and Religious Institutes;
• Capitolo Generale (Meeting of all religious of a monastery, a province or a congregation): analysis and verification of the administrative and economic management of assets within the common religious life of the members of that institute.
